Entry-Level Mortgage Closer

Job Summary

The Initial CD Closer is an entry-level position within the operations department. The Initial CD Closer will review approved documentation required to meet Initial CD (Closing Disclosure) requirements for accuracy, data entry fully completed within our LOS (Loan Operating System) to generate and deliver the Initial CD.

Valid change of circumstance approved, after Initial CD has been issued, will require subsequent CD’s to be generated and delivered to all required borrower(s) and additional required parties of the transaction within acceptable time frames.

Provided Training Expectations

The Initial CD Closer will participate in comprehensive one-on-one training, provided by assigned Manager. Training will include completing on-line compliance courses by utilizing our company compliance software on a quarterly basis provided by our compliance department. Upon completion of your Initial CD Closer training, your Manager will provide yearly performance goals and daily job responsibilities and expectations

Department policy and procedures are required to be adhered to by the Initial CD Closer to meet day to day job functions by utilizing training materials and tools provided to perform your overall job responsibilities.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities

  • Reviews documentation required to generate, deliver and confirm receipt of the initial Closing Disclosure to borrower(s), non-borrowing spouse or Title only, (if applicable) by next business day, to meet required time frames within the process and procedures of the organization.
  • Communicates (e.g., email, telephone, etc.) with internal and external customers as needed to resolve discrepancies that may arise with the Closing Disclosure
  • Reviews, verifies and update information from the documentation required to complete, generate and deliver closing disclosure. Primary functions are completed with LOS (MeridianLink) and paperless system, DocVelocity, our document retention system. Verifying Initial CD meets loan program requirements, (i.e., cash to close, minimum investment, and fee changes that would cause a cure, etc.).

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • One + years previous experience in an office environment
  • Intermediate customer service skills
  • Ability to positively project the Company and department

Work Environment

Work is performed within a hybrid office and remote environment, with standard office equipment available.
